Meet Part of Our Team

Jerry Poland
Jerry PolandPrincipal Designer
After graduating with a BA Hons degree in Furniture Design at Leeds University, England, Jerry gained design experience in the UK before a period of working in North America. He subsequently returned to the UK to take up a post with a large, specialist multi – disciplinary Architectural and Design Practise where he became the Associate Partner responsible for both 2 and 3 dimensional design output. His move to Lindsey Teak as Design Director takes him back to his roots as a furniture designer, working in a company with an international client list and backed up by a highly skilled design and manufacturing team, capable of reacting quickly to client requirements and briefs. It is the ability of Lindsey Teak to offer this unique combination of bespoke design, prototyping, manufacturing and fulfillment, on global basis, that Jerry finds so exciting. He says ‘ There are plenty of companies out there that can put all the necessary project skill sets together via their sub contractors but not many like ours which can offer this facility all under one roof!’

Jerry’s approach to design and his influences come from many different areas and eras. Ranging from Charles Rennie Mackintosh of the 1930’s Arts and Crafts Era who, with his holistic view on all aspects of the design and manufacturing process, was famed for his attention to detail – to Terence Conran for the way in which he brought innovative and contemporary design to the masses via his house design team and network of high street shops in the 1960’s and 70’s – to today where we can produce highly innovative, cutting edge, low volume design pieces which are made possible through the use of state of the art technical software and manufacturing processes. ‘The only limitations on your end product is your imagination!’
